Recipe for Benedict's solution for glucose estimation

  1. Heat 800ml H2O.
  2. Add 173g of sodium citrate and 100g of Na3CO3.
  3. q.s to 850ml with H2O.
  4. Separately dissolve 17.3g of CuSO4.5H2O in 100ml H2O.
  5. Slowly pour the solution from step into the solution from step 3 with constant stirring.
  6. q.s. to 1000ml with H2O.
