1. Combine the following in 900ml water:
   • 1.5g Na-pyruvate
   • 3ml Trace elements solution (see below)
   • 5mg Ferric ammonium citrate
   • 10mg CaCl₂ × 2 H₂O
   • 0.2g MgSO₄ × 7 H₂O
   • 10mg MnSO₄ × H₂O
   • 1g NH₄Cl
   • 1.5g KH₂PO₄
   • 4.5g Na₂HPO₄ × 2 H₂O
2. Adjust pH to 7.1
3. Adjust to 1000ml with water
4. Autoclave or filter sterilize.

Trace elements solution:

1. Combine the following in 1000ml distilled water:
   • 30mg Na₂MoO₄ × 2 H₂O
   • 20mg NiCl₂ × 6 H₂O
   • 10mg CuCl₂ × 2 H₂O
   • 0.2g CoCl₂ × 6 H₂O
   • 0.3g H₃BO₃
   • 30mg MnCl₂ × 4 H₂O
   • 0.1g ZnSO₄ × 7 H₂O
2. Autoclave or filter sterilize.
